Laura Timmons, CEO
After graduating Rutgers University's School of Business with an Accounting degree in 1988, I relocated to Washington, DC to work for Laventhol & Horwath, which was one of the “Big 10” public accounting firms in the country. I then transitioned to a mid-sized public accounting firm in Bethesda, MD. During these years I concentrated on audit and tax preparation and was exposed to many different industries including real estate developers, construction, non profits, and retail. In 1988, I passed the CPA exam and scored in the top 120 nationally.
After getting married to my husband Bill in 1992, I started my accounting business and have been operating it ever since. Bill served 27 years in the United States Coast Guard and through 9 cross country moves and triplets (now 25), I have had the opportunity to live all over the United States and have a broad range of clients spanning from Alaska to New Jersey. This unique lifestyle has given me a rare opportunity to work on numerous local and state tax filings as well as be exposed to a broad spectrum of businesses. I believe my vast experiences help my client's businesses implement the least stressful accounting system and best business models to obtain maximum profitability.
In my practice, I have worked with clients in real estate, retail, day spas, lawyers, doctors, college counselors, restaurant/bar/brewery, builders, contractors, home health aide, fitness centers, consultants, venue rentals, hair salons and franchises.
